To transform the lives of military members and military spouses so they are trained, equipped, and confident to land that ideal post-military job before they take off the uniform.
30 years of research data show that, in the aggregate, transitioning military service members perform poorly in the first two years following military transition in the following domains: employment, wellness, higher education, and entrepreneurship. This is an unfortunate outcome for the military member, their family, their potential employer, and the national economy because this group is highly educated, driven, and competent.
Despite their many talents, underperformance occurs because of the significant differences between the military they’re leaving and the public sector they’re entering. Those differences create gaps and misalignments that prevent them from achieving their full potential upon exit from the military.
What We Do
Through scholarships, the PreVeteran Foundation provides highly individualized and holistic education and training to military members and military spouses so they are fully prepared to enter the national workforce and bring their considerable talents to bear with their new employer.
Transforming the individual, earlier in the process
Every person entering the military enters as an individual and is transformed into a soldier, sailor, airman, or marine. Once they depart the military, they return back to an individual. At the PreVeteran Foundation, we believe this journey back to self needs to be accomplished before they leave the military, and that requires intentional training, sustained support, and a community.
“I think this has been really beneficial to narrowing down what’s in the realm of realistic plus something that you’re actually excited to do when you get out.”
“Once I understood the mindset it took to really get in the head of the employer and tackle it from that perspective, then I felt empowered because I had things I could do.”
PreVeteran talent is unique in the market because of our training. Through our individual training model, tools, support, and community, we're transforming the individual 1-3 years before they take off the uniform to be better aligned to your organization's needs and wants.
Starting in 2023, PreVeterans will be certified as Level 1 and Level 2, which carries with it measurable competencies that will aid them in being ready to be effective on day 1 in your organization with better retention.
